The Addictions Academy Enlists New Instructor Amalia Spero to Offer Addiction Recovery Courses to Mexico, Latin America, and Spanish Speaking Clientele Worldwide and Online

Dr. Cali Estes, The Addictions Coach and Founder of The Addictions Academy recently announced they have employed a new addiction professional and instructor, Amalia Spero. Spero is slated to coordinate offering Addiction Recovery Coach instruction to a diverse clientele, including both English and Spanish speaking in a wide variety of settings.

Spero’s training and experience allow her to teach and work with clients that are native Spanish speakers here in the United States and abroad in Mexico, Spain, and other Hispanic countries. She will also be heading up The Addiction Academy’s online courses to be taught in Spanish.

Estes said, “Amalia has an extraordinary approach to helping those who struggle with addiction and has an especially amazing talent to connect with clients and students from diverse environments and cultures. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on our team as a trainer and educator.”

Every day, 130 Americans die from opioid overdoses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But drug addiction and recovery aren’t challenges relegated to the United States. The United Nations News reported, “‘Stigma plays a big role’ in failure to tackle world opioid crisis” and the recognition of drug addiction as a disease was the focus of a panel discussion at United Nations Headquarters.

“Leaving No One Behind: the Opioid Epidemic as a Global Challenge”, was organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), to highlight the growing problem of addiction worldwide.

“I’ve said it before, but addiction impacts everyone, from all demographics and walks of life,” said Dr. Estes. “Rich or poor, white, black, or Hispanic… addiction does not discriminate and doesn’t know borders either.”

“Having Amalia on our team is a strong and positive step towards expanding our services to communities who need help.”

Spero brings more than fifteen years of experience in corporate and K-12 educational roles in the area of bilingual education and organizational development. She holds a B.S.E in Industrial Engineering as well as a Master’s in Organizational Development and Leadership. She has taught since 2000 and has been teaching online since 2017.

“I believe that every client has the choice to live the life they desire, the life they deserve,” Spero said recently. “I’m thrilled to be part of The Addictions Academy’s team, taking this powerful training to a demographic who is in need.”

Spero enjoys working with women, parents, families and will work with any clients who she believes is a good fit. She also demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with her clients, students, and colleagues. Ms. Spero has a positive outlook and a good sense of humor. She is a reflective practitioner and is always seeking new ways to improve her self to help her clients.
